Who is Summit Sparrow?
Deep in the heart of California's Santa Cruz Mountains lives Joey Young, codename "Sparrow," who spends his time planning adventures to high alpine peaks in remote and forgotten corners of the wilderness. A California native, Sparrow's mission involves one thing and one thing only: summits.
Sparrow is certified in First Aid/CPR/AED, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Wilderness First Aid. In this spare time, he works as a Disaster Services volunteer at the American Red Cross Northern California Coastal Region chapter located in Santa Cruz, California. Additionally, he is also certified as a Disaster Service Worker in Santa Cruz County's local Community Emergency Response Team ("CERT").
